The Department of Korean Language Education strives to foster qualified teachers of Korean for the middle and high schools through substantial lectures and course which include the study of the national language, classical literature, contemporary literature and the study of Korean language education. Established in 1973, the department has produced around 1,500 graduates and at present around 160 students are working to complete the process of knowledge acquisition and character development required to become a teacher of Korean.

Vision after Graduation
Our students advance to become teachers in secondary schools and strive to present Korean language education as a means to build character in future generations. In addition, careers as a writer, reporter, broadcasting play writer are career options within the press or publishing business. Another option is entry to graduate school to further one’s academic career. In particular, The Department of Korean Language Education actively promotes career opportunities for graduates through positive recommendation based on completed multiple majors and minors.
