Introduction

The Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSE) program was founded in January 1978 with 40 undergraduate students under the Computer Science in the College of Natural Science. In December 1989, the department was included in the College of Engineering, and the name was changed to the department of Computer Engineering in 1991 and enrollment increased to 140 undergraduate students. In 1996, three departments, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Computer Engineering, were merged into a single department. Shortly after that, Computer Engineering was split off again in 2002. The department has the current name, Computer Science and Information Engineering since 2012 with 19 tenure track faculty members and 1100 undergraduate students in total. We offer excellent programs with strong practical and theoretical backgrounds essential for students to apply their knowledge to real world problems. The program consists of courses with theories and experiments to train top-notch domain experts to be ready to face the challenges of a fast developing world.

According to the statistics for the past five years, our graduates have shown their talent at large corporations (Samsung, LG Electronics, Hyundai, Samsung SDS, LG CNS, MBN, Sambo Computers, Lotte Information and Communications) as well as government agency, financial institutions, research laboratories, schools, and startup companies.
